We're an Indianapolis-based nonpartisan research group—or “think tank”—that brings policymakers and practitioners together to turn ideas into action. Because of our unique location in the Midwest, we are particularly passionate about the issues that concern Hoosiers—whether it's reforming education, reducing crime, or positioning Indiana as a leader in global trade.
“Sagamore” is an Algonquin word that describes someone who grapples with serious questions, builds consensus, and offers wisdom and advice. Similarly, we wrestle with hard issues, provide a meeting place for disparate groups, and offer wise counsel to a world in progress.
We recently moved to the historic Louis H. Levey Mansion on Meridian Street in downtown Indianapolis. Our new home at the Levey Mansion serves as an ideal convening place as we weave Sagamore's narrative more closely into Indiana's 200-year story of innovation, partnership, and progress.
