Each morning "Old John" N'yangi wakes up earlier than his neighbors and makes his way over to care for the field that feeds his family. Like others in the village of Kager, "Old John" and his family live off of a one-acre plot that barely produces enough food to meet basic caloric requirements. But through a friendship with a group of Hoosiers acting through the Indiana-based Jubilee Village Project, "Old John" and his neighbors now oversee a farming cooperative that enables farmers to produce more and better food for their community.
Join Hoosier leaders from Lamb Farms, Dow AgroSciences, Elanco, Jubilee Village Project, Indiana Department of Agriculture and over 20 other Indiana organizations to help build a new community of Hoosiers who are serving Africa and its people through food and agriculture.
Alongside a meal and constructive conversation with speakers across the industry (farmers, researchers, business leaders, policy makers, and practitioners) this event will allow us to share, network, collaborate, and innovate to better help our neighbors in Africa.
