A Community Conversation: Georgia Campaign to End Child Homelessness

Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Six months ago, the Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness and its statewide partners publicly released the Georgia Plan to End Child Homelessness, which calls for coordinated action from the state’s political, social service, advocacy, non-profit, business and philanthropic sectors to provide for more than 41,500 children and youth who are homeless annually in this state.

On Wednesday, 8/31, the Office Depot Foundation, the Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness, and Sagamore Institute will host “Georgia Campaign to End Child Homelessness – Six Months and Counting: Progress and Opportunities.”  This “Conversation on Community Renewal” in Atlanta will seek to provide an opportunity for participants and supporters of the Georgia Plan to End Child Homelessness to reflect on the progress made in implementation.

Featured speakers include:

  •   Katheryn Preston, Executive Director of the Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness
  •   Mary Wong, President, Office Depot Foundation
  •   Jay Hein, President, Sagamore Institute

This event continues the "Conversation on Community Renewal" series that Sagamore has been co-leading with the Office Depot Foundation. Related events have included Renewing Elkhart, and Sports + Corporate Citizenship = Better Communities.
