Citizenship

One of Sagamore's primary missions is to strengthen civil society--that amorphous zone of space which buffers the individual from the state. While Washington tends to focus on elite opinion and government policy, Sagamore sees citizens as the front-runners in solving America’s most stubborn problems. Sagamore is working hand in hand with two groups--Center on Faith in Communities and the Foundation for American Renewal--to make that vision a reality. As well, Sagamore has partnered with Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion to investigate the “faith factor” in social services and to promote corporate citizenship, strategic philanthropy and improved civic education.
