Citizenship

One of Sagamore's primary missions is to strengthen civil society--that amorphous zone of space which buffers the individual from the state. While Washington tends to focus on elite opinion and government policy, Sagamore sees citizens as the front-runners in solving America’s most stubborn problems. Sagamore is working hand in hand with two groups--Center for Faith in Communities and the Foundation for American Renewal--to make that vision a reality. As well, Sagamore has partnered with Baylor University’s Institute on the Studies of Religion to investigate the “faith factor” in social services and to promote corporate citizenship, strategic philanthropy and improved civic education.
